Our slogan, "Where ideas surface," isn't about passively finding inspiration. It's about something deeper. What you see, read, and experience here should push you to think further, question more, and refine your own vision. Because real ideas aren't given — they are discovered inside you.
Our Purpose
SQUIDS was created with a clear mission: to build a space where truth matters, where young people are informed, and where real conversations shape the future.
We are especially focused on creating a platform that represents Africa as it truly is — its growth, its challenges, its innovation, and its people. For too long, conversations about the continent have been shaped elsewhere.
Here, we tell our own stories. We share our own knowledge. We define our own narrative. But SQUIDS is not only for Africans — it is for anyone who wants to understand Africa through real voices, real experiences, and real perspectives.
A Different Kind of Platform
SQUIDS takes a stand on something important: we are actively working toward limiting the influence of AI-generated content and bots that distort reality and mislead people — especially the youth.
This is a space for human voices. For lived experiences. For authenticity. Because the next generation deserves clarity, not confusion.
We believe in a future where information is accurate and empowering, communities are built on trust, and everyone has an equal chance to be heard.
What We Stand For
Honesty
Truth over noise. We don't tolerate misinformation or manipulation.
Transparency
No hidden agendas. Our policies are public. Our reasoning is open.
Respect
Every voice matters. Different doesn't mean wrong.
Curiosity
Question, learn, grow. The best conversations start with not knowing.
Humor
Laughter connects us. Don't forget to enjoy it.
Safety
A space where people feel secure to express themselves freely.
Why "Squids"?
Squids have three hearts. At SQUIDS, that means something to us. We believe everyone deserves more than one chance — in fact, we believe in three. But just like those three hearts, they can all be broken at once if we forget what matters.
So we ask for one simple thing: Respect the space. Respect the people. Respect the truth.
